"Kiss"
on oil, on canvas, decorated with gold flakes. It was painted between the years 1907-1908, in the so-called the golden period of Klimt's work. The picture has dimensions of 180x180 cm, it was
included in the study of the Austrian Belvedere Gallery in 1908, where it can be admired to this day. There is a couple of lovers in the foreground
they are hugging each other. The figures are dressed in patterned robes, they are
standing in a meadow full of flowers. The woman is shown in a kneeling pose and the men's strong arms keep her upright. We don't know what age they are, but it looks like they are fourteen
years old. I think it is night or evening meeting. Maybe it is good-night kiss or their love is banned. In my opinion the girl is extremely content but a bit shy. We can't see the man's face but I have the feeling that he is in
love that girl. All in all I like this painting, but it is not my favourite
one. With pleasure I would see this piece of art in museum but I wouldn’t want to have this picture in my house.
