Adam, 8a
The painting "Szewc" by Tadeusz Makowski belongs to the series of paintings by this artist presenting various professions. The work of art was created in 1930 and was painted with oil on canvas. This painting is in national musem in Warsaw. In the foreground of the painting, there is a carpenter at work. His figure is hunched over, which suggests his effort or fatigue with the work he does. The craftsman is a gray-haired old man with a long mustache. Hard work is also symbolized by the large and sore hands of an old craftsman. In the background, there are ropes on which there are old wooden models for shaping shoes. The shoemaker's workplace reminds a white and empty cell with a barred small window. The sun's rays falling through the window illuminate his workplace. The colors of the painting are dominated by white, yellow and brown. I like this painting very much because it shows a shoemaker doing his work and I really like handcrafts like carpentry and electrical wiring. I would love to have such a painting at my home.
