Hania B., 8b

My painting is a painting painted by Dahil. It was painted in 1931. Initially, it was exhibited at the Paris Pierre Colle gallery, from which it was purchased by Julien Levy for $ 250, and in 1932 exhibited at his New York gallery. In 1933, the painting was purchased by Stanley Resor, who made it a donation in 1934 to the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York. It soon became one of the symbols of surrealism as well as pop culture, being reproduced on cards, postcards and appearing in films, animated films and comics (such as Tytus, Romek and A'Tomek in book XVIII).

The picture (dimensions 24.1 × 33 cm) combines elements of fantasy and reality. It shows the deformed dials of three melting pocket clocks against the background of the seaside landscape. The fourth, closed, lies in the lower left corner, eaten by ants. In the center of the composition, one can recognize a human figure, and it is actually a head (as Dali said - paranoid-critical camembert), perhaps the artist's self-portrait.
In my opinion, this is one of the most beautiful paintings I have ever seen. It evokes pleasant emotions in me. I see a beautiful sunrise there, sun rises and sunsets are very important to me. I feel calm .. When I see this picture I feel calm and inner charmonie. This is what my description of the painting looks like.
