The Water-Lily Pond is the most famous painting of Claude Monet. Claude Monet also known as Oscar-Claude Monet or Claude Oscar

Monet was a French painter. He was born 1840 in Paris, France. The illustration was painted between 1897 and 1899. It was painted with the use of oil paint. Now we can see it in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. In the middle of the painting we can see a Japanese green bridge. Everything is kept in green shades. In the background we can notice some trees. We can assume that it might be a park. Under the bridge are a lot of flowers called water lillies. Mostly they are white but some of them are pink. The painting is rather static. We can say so because the water or trees are not moving, there is no wind. According to the idea of the painting we can suspect that it is probably a beautiful garden of a rich person. The inspiration for the artist was stunning nature. I have the impression that the author could have used more colors, not only green. It seems to me that the illustration is calming because of the used colors. The water reflects trees and grass. It’s like a mirror. It helps us to imagine the scenery. I think that this painting is charming. Nowadays we can’t see many similar paintings. It has some hidden symbols of nature, imagination and wisdom. If I could, I would love to see it live.
